Department Of Urology

The department of Urology is a surgical speciality department that deals with the treatment of conditions involving the male and female urinary tract and the male reproductive organs.

We provide surgeries involving kidneys, ureters (tubes connecting the kidneys to the bladder), adrenal glands, bladder and urethra (the tube that passes urine out of the body from the bladder) and in males treats conditions of the testes, epididymis, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate and penis, male infertility, neurourology.

Our department of urology specialises in

  • female urology: woman’s reproductive and urinary tract
  • male infertility
  • neurourology: which focuses on urinary problems due to conditions of the nervous system
  • pediatric urology: which focuses on urinary problems in children
  • urologic oncology: which focuses on cancers of the urinary system including bladder, kidneys, prostate, and testicles
  • Imaging tests such as a CT scan, MRI scan, or ultrasound which allows to see inside of the urinary tract
  • cystoscopy which involves using a thin scope called a cystoscope to see the inside of urethra and bladder
  • post-void residual urine test to find out how fast urine leaves your body during urination and to also check how much urine is left in your bladder after you urinate
  • examination of urine sample to check urine for bacteria that cause infections
